Happy 2024!

Happy 2024! Goodbye 2023! 2023 was a blast, and I can’t wait for the Happy 2024! To kick things off, I practiced photographing the Orion Nebula on New Year’s Eve. Entering the incredible Orion Molecular Cloud (M42), this emission nebula stretches over 100 light-years. This stellar nursery spawns new stars, over 700 of them! The most massive stars are called the Trapezium, which came to life over a million years ago. They are surrounded by a swarm of brown dwarfs or dim stars that are too small to ignite the fusion of hydrogen in their cores, shining only as gravitational energy.

Taken on a very, very, very cold day, 12/31/23, using an equatorial mount.
